For Data engineer · 8 Grok Bots

A pipeline back office that catches the broken table before your downstream team does

8 Grok Bots for a data engineer who owns the DAGs, tables, and freshness SLAs: watch the overnight runs, trace schema drift, draft data-quality tests and transformation code, plan backfills, and build the weekly cost review — all as drafts and plans you approve and run.

The problem it targets

Keeping the pipelines honest between builds — scanning orchestrator run history for failed and late jobs every morning, chasing an upstream schema change that broke a downstream table, writing data-quality tests and transformation code from scratch, planning backfills by hand, fielding ingestion and access requests over chat, and reconstructing warehouse spend and freshness for the weekly review — so a table goes stale unseen, a schema drift corrupts a report, a backfill runs wrong, and the on-call morning is spent piecing together what happened overnight.

What you get

From day one

1

A morning run-and-freshness scan of the orchestrator history — failed, retried, and late jobs ranked, and every owned table checked against its SLA — so a stale table is yours to catch first.

2

A schema-drift impact note when an upstream column is added, dropped, or renamed, plus drafted data-quality tests and freshness assertions for the tables that matter, ready for you to review and commit.

3

Drafted transformation and DAG code with a partition-by-partition backfill plan, a triaged data-request queue, and a one-page weekly warehouse-cost and pipeline-health review with every number traced to its metadata rows.

What the fleet does in week one

All read-and-prepare — you check its work before anything is trusted

What it does not do

The guardrails are the product

  • ×It drafts and plans; it does not run. Every migration, backfill, and prod job waits for you to review and run it.
  • ×It never sends a reply, commits code, or merges a change on its own — every message and diff is yours to send.
  • ×It works only your own systems and your own opted-in network; it does not reach anyone you have not chosen.
  • ×It never infers a table, column, or run time the run history, warehouse metadata, or repository does not show.

How you'll know it's working

One number, measured over time

Share of owned pipelines that carry a defined freshness SLA and a data-quality test, and how quickly a failed or late run is surfaced relative to when a downstream team would have noticed

Before day one

What you fill in — the bots never guess these

freshness-log
the header contract for the shared freshness and run log every bot reads and writes.
dq-test
the shape of a data-quality test file in your stack (dbt-style or plain assertions), the layout tests are drafted into.
backfill-plan
your backfill-plan layout: partition range, idempotency check, and rollback, so no backfill is run without one.

How access works

You buy a CrokPot fleet from Workplace AI — not a Cursor plan

CrokPot runs on Workplace AI, Inc.’s (WAI) Cursor Teams workspace. WAI keeps the unpaid admin seat and pays Cursor for your seat. You join as the invited user on your real email and work through the installed Grok Bot fleet.

Your card is charged by WAI via Stripe for the CrokPot fleet ($200/mo, auto-renewing monthly) only — never by Cursor. If you cancel your fleet subscription, the invite/seat ends with it and is not portable to your own Cursor account.

What do I actually get?

A pre-built fleet of Grok Bots for your trade, provisioned and installed for you on Workplace AI’s Cursor Teams workspace, plus onboarding and ongoing training. Every bot drafts; you approve.

Who owns the seat?

Workplace AI, Inc. (WAI) owns the Cursor Teams account and pays Cursor for your seat. You’re invited as a paid user on your own email. The seat isn’t portable to a personal Cursor account.

Do the bots act on their own?

No. The fleet is drafts-only, working from your own data. Nothing sends, files, or is trusted until you review and approve it — that’s the whole design.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime. It’s an auto-renewing monthly subscription at $200/mo. If you cancel, your invite/seat ends with the subscription.

What happens after I pay?

We follow up soon: our team provisions your fleet and invites you on the email you used at checkout. Watch for your Cursor Teams invite and Grok Bot download link, then accept, install, and go.
