For Local news / community newspaper operator · 24 Grok Bots

A newsroom back office that keeps the daily coming — and every fact cited

24 Grok Bots for a solo or tiny local newsroom: discover and map your beats, scan them each morning, build the sourced fact sheet, draft every section, gate for standards, and assemble the approved edition and your Substack — all as drafts a named human editor approves. A human reports the facts; nothing publishes, sends, or files on its own. Real newsroom, cited sources, disclosed AI — not pink slime.

The problem it targets

One or two people running a whole 20th-century newsroom and the small business behind it at once — attending council and school-board meetings, interviewing coaches, business owners, and grieving families, then transcribing all of it, chasing public records, writing eight sections, laying it out, sending the newsletter, and posting it all — so half the stories that should be covered never get written and the day runs out before the work is done.

What you get

From day one

1

A per-section entity and source map your Source & Entity Scout builds from your own public lists and proposes for you to approve — so every beat works a discrete, editor-approved watch-set, never an open-ended "go find news."

2

A daily story budget the Beat Scanner sweeps from only those approved maps and your tip inbox, and a sourced fact sheet per story that separates what's verified from what still needs your reporting.

3

House-style drafts for every beat — government and public safety, business, sports, arts and events, education, faith, obituaries, and seasonal elections — each gated by a standards copy desk for sources, right-of-reply, and defamation before your Lead Editor approves it as editor of record.

4

The approved edition assembled for you — your newsletter, homepage digest, and a Substack edition from your already-published stories, with license-clear imagery drafted by the Photo Desk and your site and app kept running by an Engineering desk that ships changes only on your approval.

What the fleet does in week one

All read-and-prepare — you check its work before anything is trusted

What it does not do

The guardrails are the product

  • ×It drafts; it does not publish. A named human editor approves every article, and a human reports every fact — no bot invents a fact, quote, source, name, or number, and the Lead Editor files the approved set but never publishes or emails.
  • ×It never invents an entity for a map, assembles an obituary from the web, clears its own flagged classified, posts your Substack without your greenlight, or resolves a legal or correction matter on its own.
  • ×It works only your own opted-in audience and links and credits other outlets — it never reaches a contact you don't own and never republishes another outlet's reporting, even when it transcribes local audio or video to find the story.
  • ×It does not run your daily weather forecast — that is a platform feature your site template renders from your city's coordinates, not a bot. Severe-weather alerts and closings are different: those are covered as Government & Public-Safety news, with your editor approving each before it publishes.

How access works

You buy a CrokPot fleet from Workplace AI — not a Cursor plan

CrokPot runs on Workplace AI, Inc.’s (WAI) Cursor Teams workspace. WAI keeps the unpaid admin seat and pays Cursor for your seat. You join as the invited user on your real email and work through the installed Grok Bot fleet.

Your card is charged by WAI via Stripe for the CrokPot fleet ($200/mo, auto-renewing monthly) only — never by Cursor. If you cancel your fleet subscription, the invite/seat ends with it and is not portable to your own Cursor account.

FAQ

What do I actually get?

A pre-built fleet of Grok Bots for your trade, provisioned and installed for you on Workplace AI’s Cursor Teams workspace, plus onboarding and ongoing training. Every bot drafts; you approve.

Who owns the seat?

Workplace AI, Inc. (WAI) owns the Cursor Teams account and pays Cursor for your seat. You’re invited as a paid user on your own email. The seat isn’t portable to a personal Cursor account.

Do the bots act on their own?

No. The fleet is drafts-only, working from your own data. Nothing sends, files, or is trusted until you review and approve it — that’s the whole design.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime. It’s an auto-renewing monthly subscription at $200/mo. If you cancel, your invite/seat ends with the subscription.

What happens after I pay?

We follow up soon: our team provisions your fleet and invites you on the email you used at checkout. Watch for your Cursor Teams invite and Grok Bot download link, then accept, install, and go.
